What to do with keyword-rich domains relating to my business?

Happy Friday everyone, Just purchased 30+ keyword-friendly domains that relate directly to my business. I'm getting a lot of mixed feedback what to do with them. The SEO firms I work with are split - one says "just 301 them and you're fine." Another says, "it must have unique content or you face penalties ranging from PageRank loss to sandbox to banning." It's the same among SEO industry experts. One of the industry's top leaders says "buy all the KW domains you want and 301 them to your heart's content. There's nothing wrong with it. Another lesser-known leader said "you need at least one page of strong unique content which you can then link back to your main site. Even then, it may not be enough for Google to penalize you." Anybody have the best answer (or the closest to it)? I've already 301'd the typical misspelling's of my company's name. I'm fairly certain that's a safe practice. But how do I leverage these powerful keyword domains with the most white hat methodology possible? Thanks! -SG

Entirely depends on whether they are straight new domains or they are dropped domains. SEOs would probably suggest that one of the most powerful things to do with a dropped domain is 1) ensure the old content was related to your current site 2) if 1 is correct then 301 redirect. Google doesn't see anything wrong with this really... Now new domains are a completely different ball park - put simply they hold 0 weight if you are simply buying keyword rich domains as they have no historical authority. 301ing them will pretty much do nothing. Except for capturing traffic from users typing the URLs into the browser.

There are grey areas however you have to distinguish whether these domains that you bough have any historical authority - if not then from a strictly SEO point of view they probably aren't worth much until you start treating them as individual sites..!
