Google Search Website Optimization - help!

On google if you search for a website using the exact name, you not only get the name but a list of categories? So for instance, if you type in the words Huffington Post or Politico or CNN in Google search function, you'll not only see the name of the website and description but underneath this they list the categories on that site. I've got a site with many categories, how can the categories on my site show up when someone searches my site using my websites name. So far the categories do not show up, only the name and description. So for instance, if you put in the letters CNN in google search, you'll the website title, description and the following categories: Business Politics World Video Sports Entertainment Political Ticker Live If you put in Huffington Post, you'll see website name, description and then the list of: Politics Sarah Palin Entertainment Barack Obama The News World The Blog BIG NEWS I want my site to do this, how does this happen

You can also look to supplying Google with both a HTML and XML site map to promote certain areas of the site. These allow you to prioritise certain pages above others.

Of course link building toward the specific categories is also important.

Also having clear text navigation might help if you do not have it already...

These are called site links. Site links are generated automatically by Google and cannot be set manually. Site links are generally produced for high traffic / high strength websites.

To get them for your own site, try some link building and promotional activities. Also, a clear site and URL structure helps.

what is the URl of your website?
