AnswerSEO Member Levels
AnswerSEO is more than just an SEO community and a place for webmasters to get free, expert SEO advice. AnswerSEO is also a great place to promote your website and to get free links. Advancing to different user levels will bring new benefits such as access to new tools or the ability to link out from posts.
Level 0: New Member
Its not difficult to get to this level, because this is where you start. You have 5 points after sign up which you can use to ask 5 questions if you like (each question asked is minus one point) but you can't vote on other peoples answers. Once you have 10 points, you'll be able to vote on peoples answers.
When you comment on an article or news, you'll get one point and for every answer you provide you get two. If your answer is voted top, you'll get 8 points.
Each answer you provide displays a link back to your profile page and you can use this page to promote your website/business/services or just to talk about yourself
Level 1: SEO Novice
Once you have more than 25 points you will become an 'SEO Novice' level user. At this level, your answers will get you three points instead of two so you can get to higher levels even quicker.
Level 2: SEO Trainee
At 150 points you will become a trainee SEO. When you're a trainee SEO, you can a keyword targeted link from your profile page. This will pass some strength through to the selected page on your site - although your profile page probably won't have a huge amount of strength to pass. However, at a higher user level all of your links from your answers will become 'active' (nofollow will be removed). Suddenly, your profile page will have loads of inbound links and all of this strength can be passed through to your site! If you are of the opinion that the 'nofollow' attribute does nothing, you can assume you benefit straight away.
Level 3: SEO Pro
At 700 points, you'll become an SEO Pro and at this level, each answer you give will provide you 4 points. Additionally, you will be able to add two more links onto your profile page.
Level 4: SEO Guru
Once you have reached this level, you will probably have provided a lot of answers. So, now that your links are 'turned on' your profile page will have a lot of strength to pass. Additionally to this, you can add a web address to the profile information shown against every answer you have ever given. This will be nofollowed but it should be great for traffic.
Level 5: SEO Master
At this level, you will have full access to all advanced tools (coming soon) and all benefits of the other ranks. Also, you will be able to submit articles to the article section. You will have to stick to the publishing rules and submit unique, quality content but you can put a link in each article pointing to where ever you like (within reason - no porn etc).
